INSPIRATION: west texas wonders

I hit the road and headed west for a little RnR and perspective before our busy time of the year beings. It is so hard not to feel small, in a good way, when you look at the stars in the crystal clear sky or while gazing up through a towering slot canyon. Textures and patterns found in nature often guide us while we design new pieces.  What inspires you?

TERLINGUA (very top)
On the way to Big Bend stop in Ghost Town Texas. Sit on the porch and enjoy the beautiful views of the Chisos Mountains, catch a show at the Starlight Theatre and walk the old cemetery.

MARFA (top left)
Visit Wrong Store, an awesome gallery and even better folks. Tell Buck and Camp we sent ya and hopefully you will get to sneak a peek at Camp’s studio.

BALMORHEA (top right)
Swim with the fishes in the world’s largest spring-fed swimming pool at Balmorhea State Park. It is so dreamy and great on a hot summer day.

BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK (bottom left)
Explore Santa Elena Canyon.  Sit in silence and take in the beauty, look one direction see the Chisos Mountains turn around and see Mexico.

MONAHANS (bottom right)
Monahans Sandhills State Park you drive up it seems like you may have been duped, but the further you drive into the park the more you can’t believe what you are seeing.  Mounds of white sand sculpted by the wind and textured by tiny animal foot prints.

PRO TIP:
Slow Down… Locals live at a much slower pace than city life. So, instead of getting frustrated GO WITH THE FLOW and always have snacks.
